'56 Special
'56 Special
The Glory Guitars ‘56 Special is a loving recreation of the 1956 model played by greats like Muddy Waters and many others. The Fralin Blues Specials are at nearly the exact same wind as Leo used in ‘56. The “whiteguard” first made its appearance in 1954 and was a drastic departure from the “blackguard” or butterscotch models that preceded it. The ‘56 Special is incredibly versatile and can handle anything from mellow jazz to chickin’ pickin’, to rock, and sound GREAT doing it! Only the very best parts used like aged, hand-carved, unbleached bone nut, Genuine and period-correct Kluson single line Deluxe tuners, CRL switch, CTS pots, Sozo .022uf tone cap, original Gavitt 22 ga. cloth push-back wiring, etc. The body has an aged nitrocellulose lacquer finish and the neck is aged and hand finished with tru-oil. The neck is a chunky, yet comfy .86C with a 10” radius and 6125 frets. Like all Glory builds, this one has my proprietary broken-in neck back for a never-sticky, extremely smooth feel. Everything on this guitar is beautifully and meticulously aged for that broken-in, “old friend” feel. If you’re a worship guitarist, inquire about Glory Guitars’ exclusive Worship Player Discount.
